Textured Snow Village

The design on this card was a freebie from a craft mag.
I really like the scene, one of those you can see yourself walking through on a frost day.

I liked the lilac tint in the artwork, so I went with lilac and silver for the rest of the card.
I embossed lilac card with a holly embossing panel

And I used silver board to cut the key and snowflake  embellishment.
I do like the detail in this key cutting die :D

Frosty Rooftops

This card was made with a 3D design from a craft mag.
Again, I really like the detail in the artwork, just a shame it was a small in size

I added glitter to the snow topped buildings, though it doesnt show very well in this photo

The embellishments I made using a snowflake cutting die, with holographic card :D

Bright Lights Street

This festive card was made with a 3D design I got from a craft mag.

I really like the artwork, just wished it had been a little larger. It's one of the reasons I prefer digital artwork, then I can print it the size I wish

I used velum on this card, and then I had to think about embellishments.
So used a couple of cutting dies, that I could use on any theme of card.
The ivy corners and the deer.

Clutch Rose Bag

Another of the handbag templates I have, was used to make this project.

This is a clutch style bag, though I think you could add a strap for a different look

I used different colours and textures of pink card for the base and decorated the front flap with pretty rose paper.

I used the lovely rose cutting die to make those pretty roses, this has turned out to be one of my favourite floral dies.
And they worked well with the pretty feather cutting die.

The fashening for this bag was made with a button cutting die, and I did like that idea :D

Again I was able to put a few tea candles in this bag, and it makes for a really nice gift :D

Pink Knitted Top

One of my other crafting passions is knitting my own clothes.

This top I adapted from a plain jumper pattern

I got some lovely dark pink yarn, the luxury aran range from Poundstretcher.

I decided to knit a smaller size, so it would fit snuggly,, I find a snug fit is warmer, which is needed when doing a vest type garment

I added two lines of simple cable down the front and back, just enough to lift the pattern and add a bit of interest

It was fun adapting a plain jumper to make this sleeveless top.
The different textures were easy to add, and I do like how it fits

The neck and the sleeve tops were patterned in garter stitch.
Just added a little bit of interest to those areas, without being too detailed.

Im really pleased how the garment fits, will work nicely with a polo neck jumper, and also a thinner top for added warmth.

Feather Bag

I have some handbag templates, which I hadn't tried.

This one has a lovely strap affect and also nice shaped fold over section.

I used pink base card and decorated the front of the bag with pretty rose paper

I used a couple of cutting dies to embellish the bag. One was a butterfly and the other a feather. I like the feather affect, really pretty.

A nice little pearl for a fake catch :D

This bag was big enough to put tea candles inside, lovely for a nice little gift.

Snowy Cottage

I made this card with a free topper from a craft mag.

The artwork is lovely, a close up of another topper from the same mag.

I went with lilac and gold for the colour theme on this card. The tree is a cutting die, I got free from craft mag,

Its a pretty affect, and again the scene is one you could just step into :D

Teddy Love

I have had a set of cute little teddy toppers for a while, and made this card with one of those

I am still trying to use my old stash, which include freebies from craft mags.

This cute design, made a sweet card.

The embellishment was a set of 3D stickers Ive had for ages, and finally getting used up :D

Bells and Boots Card

I really like how this festive card turned out.

I used a digital design from my very large collection of art - everytime I go look at that collection I see artwork Ive yet to use (lol)

I added a lovely frame to this bell design. Added a touch of glitter and that is all it needed, the detail in the artwork is lovely

I used that lovely ski boot cutting die to compliment the design, with a lovely little bow :D

Fancy Lantern

This project was my take on a paper latern

I used a template to make the base latern, which I then covered in patterned paper

I decorated the inside first, using an elegant lady 3D sheet Ive had in my stash for a while.
I used my small daisy cutting die to add to her hat, love the affect

The outside, I made various embellishments. The flowers were made with a couple of different floral cutting dies. I painted them with my mica paints.

I used a butterfly and leaf cutting dies to compliment the flowers.
And of course ribbon to finish off

I love this project, its so pretty and will look lovely with a battery powered tea light :D

Flower Sticks

Thought it would be a nice idea to make dimensional flowers, and place them on sticks

These are neat little things to display in a small holder, as well as a nice little gift to go with a birthday or xmas card.

I made all the flowers with various cutting dies that I have and the leaves are a different cutting die.
Finished off with organza ribbon bows.

This one was cut out using purple paper, then painted with cosmic paints

I used a floral cutting die with a pattern in the leaves, don't get to use this die much, but did like the affect here.
Did in blue card, and painted with cosmic paints

 This version is my favourite
I really like how the flower turned out and it's one to remember when I come to do floral wreaths in future :D

Ive managed to make this rose affect from one of the floral cutting dies I have, that only has two layers.

By cutting more layers and shaping, I made this in yellow card - painted with cosmic paints

The sticks are coloured lollypop sticks, however, I have coloured markers that I can use to colour brown ones.

7 February 2015

Orchid Magic Card

I have a lovely selection of orchid artwork in my digital collection

I love the detail in this artwork, delicate, and detailed.

I went for delicate floral papers, and of course a delicate embellishment to compliment.

I used a sprig cutting dies, with a touch of gems and made a lovely detailed bow :D

5 February 2015

Detailed Carnations Card

Delicate tinted carnations.

This design is one from a Joanna Sheen craft cd, one I havent used in a while.

I love the detail, the colours work so well on the flowers, giving them depth.

I made this card into a simple 3D design and added just a few little butterflies.

Love the colours, the detail and kept it simple to highlight those elements.

3 February 2015

Cheeky Elf Card

I'm often behind with displaying my cards, and one reason is I dont like to show them until after I have sent them to folks :D

This is another festive card I made late last year, and its a great fun card.
The design is by Debbi Moore, love the cheeky elf :D

Kept it simple really, just using a candle cutting die for an embellishment.

1 February 2015

Purple Iris and Butterfly Card

Delicate flowers.

The design on this card is one from a Debbi Moore Craft CD
It came in 3D too, but for change I went with just the one layer.

I love the detail in this design, so much to see. Such delicate colours and I just used simple layering to compliment the pretty design

I also made a couple of simple embellishments. I just felt it needed a lovely organiza bow, and of course the butterfly :D
