Looking Back in Crafting Time - 2

This  look back in time, goes back four years again, and I found some cards that I had purchased designs for, so the cards made were one off's as I was unable to get the designs again.

I made this card as a thank for a friend, and it's something Ive not had chance to do again much since.
Please check out the original Post - Mask Card

Does anyone remember Flower Soft :D

There are two cards in the original post - Flowersoft Lilac Cards

I still have flowersoft and rarely use it

Christmas Holly Bell

Its summer and christmas is a coming (lol)

I have to be organised and filter in my christmas cards throughout the year, otherwise it's panic time in October :D

This card was made with artwork from my collection. I have lots of artwork in other themes that I have never used yet. However, festive themed, I struggle each year to find new stuff. However, some of my arwork I've not used in a while, and this is one of them.

I've used a few cutting dies to add interest and make embellishment for this card. The branch die, is one that I haven't used much before now, but do hope to use it more. It wasn't purchased specifically for festive cards, but I feel it will look really nice with festive ones as I can cut it in different colours :D

Elf Warrior

I made this card with a Debbi Moore design

It was made for a friend, who shares my interest in fantasy movies/books.

And it's the first time Ive had chance to use the male character from a collection of fantasy art I have by Debbi Moore - very lord or the rings/hobbit feel to it

I decided to keep it reasonably simple, but just adding an embossed layer.
Then I thought of elves and woodland, so used a set of cutting dies with bare trees and seperate leaves. First time I've used this set as it's meant to used :D

Lilac Floral Toppers - Free Art

Please click on the image, for larger version, then save to PC. Then the sheet can be resized as required before printing

Its my birthday today, and I thought I would offer folks a new Freebie to celebrate.
A lot of my digital stash is vintage, I really like the old artwork and style. For one of the toppers made with this lovely lilac floral design, I used vintage scroll borders.  The other topper I went for a more model look.

Christmas Bird Clock

End of last year I got some lovely toppers and papers free with a craft mag.
I used one of the detailed backing papers from that collection on this card.

When you get lovely larger designs on backing papers, it seems such a shame to hide that detail.
So I've decided to use some of these papers, but just adding embellishments to compliment

This time I used a large festive tree cutting die, which was gifted to me
I added a few gems to the tree and a bow. Just enough to make the card interesting and compliments the lovely clock arwork :D

Cute Collie

I have a large selection of digital art, which I try and use as much as possible for making cards
This card was made from artwork I have, it's so detailed and especially nice for dog lovers.

I kept this card simple, and mostly just used layering to compliment the design
Though I did manage to use a ivy cutting die corner, for embellishments. The cutting die comes in two sizes, I used the smaller one on this card.

With so many themes in my digital art collection, it is difficult to use them all. So really nice to finally get to use this lovely topper on a card :D

Vintage Poinsettia for Christmas

A vintage Poinsettia, a design from my large digital collection, which I made into a 3D sheet

Despite having lots of digital art, my collection of Christmas themed artwork isn't so large. So I do end up using the same artwork more often.
However, I try and make the finished cards look different.

Normally I would of gone for all traditional colours with this design. However, this time, I have gone for something slightly bolder.

So white embossed card and white embellishments, framed by black too.
Really liked the affect, and seems to frame the Poinsettia really nicely :D

Lets Go to the Ball

The masked lady at the Ball :D This topper is one by Debbi Moore, that I made into a 3D design

I have so many designs, for general themes, that I could make hundreds of cards in a year and never use the same one twice (lol)

I don't think I have used this design before, though I do love the artwork, I think one reason is that the dress is black.
I love the bold affect of black, but always uncertain about using black when making cards for my friends

I used a dotted pattern embossing folder on card for the backing
And various cutting dies for the embellishment - of course :D

Bird Clock House for Christmas

This topper, came with a magerzine. I love the detail in it.

The clock is so imaginative, really like the little touches with the holly and acorns hanging underneath

I went with a simple card for this, as I didn't want to overwhelm the delicate topper

However, I had to get my cutting dies in there, and the sprig and acorns I got near the end of last year, are really coming in handy now :D
I painted the embossed pattern on the acorns with my cosmic paints. Generally I paint the whole embellishment, but this time just highlighted the embossed pattern.

Floral Red Squirrel

I love red squirrels
And this lovely Dufex design really shows off the detail in the artwork too.

Its such a pretty design, though a little small, so I ended up making a smaller card when I used it

Also, it was that hard choice, do I have lots of embellishments, or do I not. Especially when using such lovely artwork

So on this occasion I went with really pretty backing paper, which I think works well with the design
And just one little butterfly, that I cut out in pink glitter card :D

House Mouse Branch Christmas

It's the middle of summer and I'm making festive cards :D
I did focus on other themes for a while, and then realised the year was flying in and I was going to run out of time

So back to filtering in festive cards :D

I have a lovely Craft CD collection of Festive House Mouse designs that I got form Joanna Sheen. It's one of those cute collections that I find myself returning to often each year.

I made a 3D sheet for this card with a design, and went for more funky colours for embossed card, just for a change. Gives the card a warmth :D
I try every year to try not stick to traditional colours for all my festive cards, see how long that lasts :D

Fancy Blue Shoe

I found a shoe template and though I would have a go at making a model shoe project.

This was great fun, and especially nice one to give as a gift to someone who loves shoes.

I used a recent swirl cutting die on this project, and a flower cutting die.

Each side of the shoe was made the same

The flower was painted with cosmic paint, and shaped as a rose - though the original cutting die isn't that kind of flower :D

The gems added a nice touch for the heal

And on the front I made a large bow, in organza ribbon

I thoroughly enjoyed making this project, and it was well received when I gave it away :D

Cake Slice Novel Papercraft

I found a template to be able to make cake slices
If a few are made, a whole round cake can be made out of card.

I decided just to do one, as a novel model project.

I used my rose cutting die, and small leaf die to decorate around the edges. The roses were painted with mica paints.

The top view, shows the swirl and butterfly cutting dies I used

A fun project, perhaps could be given to someone for their birthday who didn't eat cake:D

Pink Butterflies

I realised this year that I haven't seen many butterflies, perhaps it's been too cool!

This card I made using a detailed backing paper from Hunkydory and combining it with a large butterfly cutting die.

I liked the affect, and the heart gems mirror the small flowers in the paper pattern.

Few gems on the butterfly and glitter, gives this a lovely luxury feel :D

Vintage Couple - Free Art

Click on Image to Save to PC, then resize as required before printing

I really like this free design sheet. I created toppers from different images, and think they compliment each other so nicely, and also giving ribbon and embellishment :D
